The list below has all of the details to make for a seamless departure.
Please be sure you've done all of the following:
Reviewed the packing list
Added yourself to a carpool as a rider or driver
Signed up one meal rotation, either cooking or cleaning
As you pack, consider the weather - it's going to be hot 🔥, perfect for lots of lake floating:
Friday: high 104, low 66 (we'll be arriving after peak heat)
Saturday: high 96, low 63
Sunday: high 94, low 60
We suggest that our guests bring the following equipment:
Eating
Don't forget to bring supplies for the meal for which you signed up for -- both edible, and anything else you'll need to cook it
Bring any special snacks or drinks you'd like, but all of the basics will be provided
Sleeping - please bring both options, unless you're flying in. We won't use them all, but it will be helpful to have options as we get settled.
Camping sleeping gear (sleeping bag) -- and a pad if you want to sleep up the roof
Sheets, pillowcases, blankets for a queen sized bed
Pillow(s)
Earplugs/eyeshades (some sleeping is in shared areas)
Clothing
A light jacket for a cool evening
One "resort chic" outfit for Saturday night dinner
Bathroom
All the usual stuff - toothbrush+paste, meds, hygiene items...
Beach + Sun
Swimsuit
Beach towel or two
Bath towel if you like
Hat
Sunscreen
Sunglasses
Misc
Headlamp
A playlist of your fave music
Optional
Books
Tubes or other water floaties

The vessel comes stocked with these items.
Please sign up for a carpool only to the lake. We'll default to the same cars going back but can gladly adjust once we're all at the lake. A few of us will stay just a bit later to clean up the boat; folks who need to leave immediately upon return to the dock can do so!
Drivers: details for navigation are on the Directions tab.
Timing
Carpool departure time is up to the carpool. Our goal is to get everyone on the boat on Friday night. If we can all make it by ~6pm, we can head out of the marina to dock somewhere scenic for the night. If we aren't all there by ~6pm, we'll just sleep in the marina and head out in the morning. Either way will work - but the the earlier, the merrier.

The following itinerary is approximate and subject to change.
Friday Sept 6
Anchors away! We aim to leave the dock, provided that everyone arrives sufficiently prior to sunset. We won't make it far, but we'll find a nice place to anchor, cook dinner, and watch sunset from the roof.
If all guests arrive by 6pm, we'll set out of the marina. If any guest is running late, we'll remain moored in the marina for the night.
Saturday Sept 7
A full day! We'll make a big breakfast spread nice and early, and then head out.
--> Possible destination is "The Backbone" / a set of natural waterslides down the lake
Expect lots of lounging and lots of swimming.
Sundowner drinks w/ a campfire on the shore.
We'll cook something delightful for lunch and dinner and revel as late as we want to revel.
Sunday Sept 8
We can sleep in and cook a mid-morning breakfast.
We can get in some last swimming before and while heading back to the marina.
We'll probably have copious amounts of food left, so we'll eat that for lunch.
We'll aim to dock by 3pm at the latest, so you'll be back in time to reset for the week ahead.
Shasta La Vista operates on a shared cooking philosophy - we believe that food preparation is an integral part of the guest experience. Please use the sheet below to sign up for a meal slot, and to note any food sensitivities you may have.
Cook #1 should take point on planning and shopping, coordinating with cook #2 as needed. Cooks should bring everything they need to cook their meal. If you're committing to buy something others might also be able to use, feel free to add to the "shared ingredients" list.
Cooks are not allowed to clean. Really!
Please be sure to have a look at the items the boat includes, and bring any other cooking gear you'll need to prepare your meal.
